Manchester Town Hall wedding photography by Joseph Yarrow

Manchester Town Hall is Alfred Waterhouse's neo-Gothic landmark on Albert Square — vaulted ceilings, sculpted stonework, ceremonial rooms that read like film sets.

City weddings here have a different energy to country-house ones — busy, bright, with the city as a backdrop for the portraits.

Easy travel for guests, walkable to a hundred reception venues, and the building itself does most of the work.

Photographed when the practice travelled north. The work below is real and still worth showing, but Joseph now photographs weddings in Bristol and the South West. If you are marrying in the South West, the venues I photograph now is the better place to start.

Photographing in the South West.

Manchester Town Hall is work from the years the practice travelled. If you are marrying nearer home, the venues I know now are the better place to look.
